I first began to learn about hooves because I wanted to help my elderly horse who was showing definite signs that his feet were hurting but nobody seemed to know what was wrong. It was one of the most frightening, but rewarding things I have ever done and gave me a real insight into the way the hoof can heal itself given the chance. The knowledge I gained while helping my horse inspired me to learn more and I signed up to become an Equine Podiatrist.

Soon I was working on friend's horses and by the time I qualified I already had a caseload of 20. Now I look after many times that number of horses and marvel at the huge array of hooves I see and the changes they go through on the road to good health. I became a full time EP in December 2005 and feel very lucky to have found such a rewarding career.
