My introduction to Applied Equine Podiatry came via a friend who highly recommended KC La Pierre’s courses. My goal at that time was to be able to safely and competently maintain my own horses’ feet, none of whom have ever been shod. However, after the first course I was hooked, and in spite of it being one of the most challenging things I’ve ever done, my desire to learn more pushed me forward, and I qualified as an EP in November 2006.

My husband, our three children and I share a Rhum Highland pony, an Eriskay and a Shetland. We enjoy doing farm work with them, hacking and some long distance riding. It has been a joy seeing their feet improve along with their overall well-being. It is extremely rewarding working with other people and their horses, and seeing how willing people are to learn to take responsibility for their horses' feet, and how they and their horses benefit from it.
