I became interested in taking on Equine Podiatry as a career in 2007. Since then, I’ve been trimming my own horses and have finally qualified as an EP! I became interested in becoming an EP because of my own horse’s on going health problems. While we’re getting close to having him 100% sound now, it’s been a very long journey in which I’ve developed a lot of knowledge and interests in pathologies along the way. Sadly, JJ’s health problems also meant that he began to develop behavioural problems over time and this has also given me a keen interest in animal behaviourism and how to handle more difficult horses. I’m following this interest up by completing the first stage of the qualification to become registed as a trainer with the Intelligent Horsemanship association in the UK. I have so much faith in what I do, that rather than go to University I opted to complete the qualification with EPAUK and haven’t looked back since!

I currently live at home with my parents, and three horses: JJ, who was my first horse and the reason I decided to become an EP, Honey, a formerly feral Welsh pony & Storm, who’s a loan horse from a friend of ours. JJ is the riding horse out of the three, and the other two function as companions & family pets.
