Training and Qualification StandardThis document forms the Equine Podiatry Association's training and qualification requirement for membership.Issue: 4.0 All membership applications and enquiries should be addressed to the Membership Committee through the Association Secretary, whose contact details can be found on our website www.epauk.org. Associate MembershipAssociate Membership is open to any applicant who has received training in Equine Podiatry, or who has a strong interest in the future of the profession. Associate membership will be denied to those who have demonstrated that they do not support the aims of the Association. The Council also reserves the right to cancel membership if the Associate Member conducts themselves in any way that may be deemed harmful to the EPA(UK) or its members. Student MembershipStudent Membership is open to any applicant who is currently engaged in training to become an Equine Podiatrist on a course that is recognised by the Association. Training courses that are currently recognised are:
Full MembershipAny EP who has been a member of the EPA(UK) continuously since 1st June 2007 and has maintained their record of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is entitled to maintain Full Member status. Any previous Full Members who have allowed their membership to lapse may re-apply for full membership at any time. Any requirements for additional training prior to re-admission will be considered on a case-by-case basis by the Membership Committee. Any new candidate wishing to join the EPA(UK) as a Full Member must pass an entrance exam which consists of a mixture of theory and practical work. More detailed information about the exam can be obtained from the Association Secretary. On completion of the required additional training, Full Membership status will be awarded upon receipt of the first year's subscription which can be calculated pro-rata with the renewal date of 1st June.
